Anunay Jha is a resident of Deoghar, Jharkhand. While his father has served the country through civil services, his mother works in the post office department. After doing his initial studies from Deoghar, he took admission in IIT Roorkee. After some time, he completed his studies from IIT. After this, he worked for some time on a big project with the World Bank and from here the yearning to become an IAS officer started in his heart. Anunay Jha started preparing for UPSC after finishing his engineering studies and soon after he joined to give UPSC exam. He had secured 145th rank in this examination in the year 2013. After which he was selected in the IRS, but Anunay Jha always wanted to become an IAS. For this, he tried again in the year 2014 and got 57th rank in this regard. After which he fulfilled his dream of becoming an IAS. He told that he got the urge to pass the civil services examination from Nana. His maternal grandfather was the DGP of Bihar. His maternal grandfather's name was Late Balveer Jha. Who was an IPS officer of 1962.
