'I have become Lal's mother not Aamir', Mona Singh breaks silence on becoming a mother in 'Lal Singh Chaddha'

Many actors like Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan were often trolled for romancing actresses half their age on screen. Casting has often been criticized for the unfair age gap in Bollywood. In this sequence, people were surprised to see 40-year-old Mona Singh playing the role of 57-year-old Aamir Khan's mother in 'Lal Singh Chaddha' and trolled her fiercely.

After a long silence, Mona Singh finally replied to the trollers. Mona said that she has played the role of Lal's mother and not Aamir's mother. Talking to India Today, Mona Singh said, "Earlier I didn't want to talk about the age difference debate because I wanted people to watch the film."

Mona Singh further said, I have played the role of Lal's mother and not Aamir's mother. This is not a biopic of Aamir Khan where he is 57 years old and I am playing his 40 years old mother. I was sure that most people would not question the age difference after watching the film.

Earlier, Aamir Khan had also defended the casting in the film and called it unfair to question the age difference.

Let me tell you, 'Lal Singh Chaddha' is under constant questioning since its release. Demonstrations are taking place at various places regarding this film. One section is supporting it, while the other is engaged in boycotting it.
